The piece is thought to date from the early 1920's. The bottom of the feet of the elephant have the impressed mark of Karlsruhe pottery, "Made in Germany" and model numbers "3051" on one foot and "7" on another. The elephant measures approximately 4 inches long, 2 inches wide and 4-1/4 inches tall. The piece has crackle to the glaze but otherwise in very good condition and is without cracks or chips.
