A Barbotine majolica oyster plate from La Faïencerie d’Onnaing in northern France, circa 1870. Six fish heads surround a central raised fluted medallion. A textured ground and pattern rim add to the appeal of this desirable and dimensional plate. The base colour is dark brown with a bright blue, red and a hint of yellow.
The underside has some chips on the raised base and slight discolouration, otherwise excellent condition.
