The light source of the lamp is hidden in the base to never create direct glare. The light is reflected by a convex white opaque sheet metal screen on the side from which the light rays come, which is supported by a transparent glass paraboloid, which by rotating on the circular support allows the reflected light to be directed in the desired directions, without the need for fixing with mechanical means.
This lighting device was developed in 1958 and presented in March of the following year at the Institute of Design of Illinois and the Institute of Technology in Chicago. Flos, interested in producing it in series, completed the studies of the definitive prototype, starting production in 1962. This piece has an attribution mark,
