Backrest has a … Read more 18th Century Italian Neoclassic Carved and Painted and Armchair. Fauteuil features finely carved wood on the frame. Backrest has a carved crest featuring a male head in profile within a rounded medallion, framed by scrollwork. Apron is decorated with garland floral carvings with medallions at top where apron meets legs--a highly classical detail, emphasizing symmetry and ornamentation. Upholstery, added at a later point in time, features large red and gold floral and leaf design on a black background. See less
