Antique four piece silver plate tea set made in Sheffield, England in the 1930s.
Of plain form, on four claw feet, all with egg and bead rim the teapot and water pot with wooden handle and finial.
Silver plated is used to denote - the method was invented in the city of Sheffield in about 1743 by goldsmith Thomas Boulsover.
Objects made with the metal obtained by hot rolling unroll silver leaves on copper. This process fell into disuse after the adoption of the system of Silver Plating (silver plating of the base metal obtained with a galvanic bath), which began in 1850.
Such a processing system was commonly called Silver Plate.
All items from vintage tea set have the original manufacturer's label.
