Britannia Depicta or Ogilby Improv'd" was an illustrated road atlas of Britain, based on John Ogilby's earlier work, and published in numerous editions from 1720 into the 19th century. It was updated with engravings by various artisans based on drawings by other artists. The atlas included county and road maps, and it aimed to be a "correct copy" of Ogilby's actual survey of England and Wales. Interestingly the map shows the location of the ‘Common Fields’ which disappeared after the passing of the Enclosures Act.
