George Eliot is the pen name for female English novelist and poet Mary Ann Evans (1819-1880). Her most famous piece is “Middlemach”” which is included in this 18 volume set of her complete works. Middlemach is not only considered her masterpiece but it is also considered by many as one of the finest English Novels ever written. Eliot is also considered one of the leading writers of the Victorian era. This set was published by Peter Fenelon Collier. It does not have a date of publication, but it’s widely assumed to have been published in the 1890s. JBN
