From the same series as Amber Crested Form, held in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, this work is signed Harvey K Littleton and dated 1976.
Harvey K. Littleton is considered the father of the studio glass movement in the United States.
For this sculpture, Littleton massed a dolphin-shaped appendage onto an assemblage that includes a hollow tube. He then allowed the weight and tension of the cooling glass to yield this form.
