Made of green, … Read more Superb Murano "sommerso" catch-all or ashtray designed by Flavio Poli for Seguso Vetri d'Arte (Murano, Italy, 1970s). Made of green, yellow and transparent glass. Perfectly works as an ashtray, a vide poche, a catch-all or just as a display piece on any table. Extremely decorative. Length: 8 cm/3.2''; width: 8 cm/3.2''; height: 5.7 cm/2.2''. Excellent vintage condition. No chips, no cracks, no flea bites. Very light scratches consistent with age and use.

"Sommerso" (Italian for ''submerged'') is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
