An antique mirrored pair of Chinese Republic Era porcelain lamp. The vases are hand painted with a scene of either an immortals or scholar in a garden being attended by three attendants. The two lamps have identical designs but mirror each other.
The vase is set onto a brass base with a deco style scroll around the mouth. The finals do not match but can be replaced with ones that best fit your décor. The brass hardware has oxidized significantly, which gives it an aged look.
The cardboard-lined sockets are 3 way. They will work with either regular or three-way bulbs. They sockets are unrated for maxium wattage, but you should be fine with anything under 100 watts. Most bulbs today are much lower than that.
MEASUREMENTS
Overall 30 in (76.2 cm) tall x 6 in (15.2 cm) diameter
Base only – 13 ½ in (34.3 cm) tall.
Weighs 11 lbs 12 oz.
CONDITION
The lamps work and the wiring looks safe. The body of one vase has a hairline that runs from the top to about midway. No damages are noted on the other lamp; however the glaze stops just before the very bottom on one side. The bodies on both have customary kiln flaws, such as pits and a few glaze misses. The brass hardware has no significant scratches or dents, but does have a few uneven spots.
The pair of lamps would be a perfect addition to a formal room or study.
