I just got it home after having been featured in the Artist Guild Annual Salon Show for Crooked Tree Arts Center at the Petosky Location for all of January and February.

A deep meditation on all that grows under salty waters in warmer climates. It could be that we get snow until late April here in Traverse City, or that I'm anxiously awaiting summer to arrive. We have the most beautiful turquoise waters here on Lake Michigan but I admit that salty warm waters have the most colorful and bountiful flora and fauna for artists to paint.

My in-laws are in Sarasota and we are spending time there each year, a much needed respite for cold ears and toes. While there, I take many photos, go to the beach each day, and study the movement and hues of the vegetation. I hope to get deeper in the coming years, once the kiddos are launched into adulthood and I have more time for fun stuff.

I have quite a few patrons in Florida and this series is inspired by the Sunshine State! See less
