The cabinet has a very rustic look … Read more Beautifully painted bridal cabinet from Germany, to be exact from the Swabian Alps. The cabinet has a very rustic look and shows plenty of character. This cupboard is for its age in good condition although there are obviously some slight signs of use. There are sporadic traces of old woodworm, which are obviously checked again. The cabinet has a well functioning lock with key and has shelves on the inside. It used to be customary to give wedding furniture like this as a gift to the couple at a wedding. This furniture was afterwards placed on the farm in a showroom that was only rarely used for high visits or special occasions. So a beautiful and decorative piece of history. This one dates from 1830. Note the special painting on the sides. 188cm high, 125cm wide, 52cm deep. See less
