The oval … Read more Sublime set of six French 20th century carved beech dining chairs crafted in the grand Louis XVI taste. The oval balloon back or cameo frames feature an opulent silver cloud or oyster lacquer finish with a desirable aged patina. The painted finish perfectly accents the silver leaf toned fabric. The upholstery fabric features Fortuny style designs of floral sprays and swag over a dramatic silver silk ground. The fabric is bordered by patinated brass tack nail heads having a dark bronze finish. The carved frames are supported by fluted tapered column legs ending with toupie feet. The aged aesthetic on the finishes works well together in complimentary tones of antique silver. The frames are sturdy and strong with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Sold as a set of six. Condition: Good, wear consistent with age and use. Beautifully crafted with solid joinery and construction. The chairs have a distressed, aged patina on the painted finish. Vintage fabric is faded with some minor stains, but shows well. Age appropriate wear with minor chips, scuffs, and fading. See less
