the work of maria chiara re is intriguing with its naturalistic approach, which meticulously reproduces the natural erosion of marble as well as the characteristic veins of carrara quarries.
born in milan on april 8, 1998, maria chiara re followed artistic training at the liceo artistico l. Fontana in arese, where she obtained a diploma in figurative arts in 2017. The same year, she joined the academy of fine arts in carrara, from which she graduated with honors in sculpture in 2021.
during her residency in carrara, she deepened her mastery of marble and hard stones, developing a resolutely multidisciplinary practice, ranging from 3d modeling to anthropological, cultural and psychosocial research.
from 2019 to 2021, she joined the “ponte di ferro” workshop, a collective of artists located in carrara. This experience allows him to explore more personal projects while nourishing his work through contact with other creators. A monographic exhibition is dedicated to him at the gallery at 54 rue de dunkerque, paris 9th.
