This beautiful oil painting by the Spanish artist Salvador Caballero (B, 1944-2006) showcases Port De La Selva in the Costa Brava coastal region of northeastern Spain. The painting depicts a coastal view from a dock or boat with a vibrant architectural landscape in front of a large hillside. Fishing boats and sailboats can be seen docked in the harbor. The oil painting is signed lower right and marked along the verso. The painting has a baroque frame with scalloped corners, finished in gold.

Salvador was a self-taught painter born in Barcelona, Spain. He learned to paint from his uncle Vincent del Olmo. He died of heart failure while painting in his studio.
