This work was important for the artist: "the bird and its nest is a canvas that i like very much and which marks (\.) an era in my work", he keeps it close to him until his death and has wanted to make a lithograph,edited by the prestigious gallery maeght. The theme of the bird is fundamental in braque’s work, as evidenced by the ceiling that the artist decorated at the louvre museum. The lithograph uses those shades of brown that braque loves, the bird returns to its nest, full of the promise of life.
