Unique piece handcrafted by Alice Colonieu
Rare pitcher with large handle and pouring spout in green and white enamelled chamotte earth.
Circular stamp of the artist debossed on the reverse of the base.
Alice Colonieu (1924-2010) was a French ceramist and sculptor, trained at the Marseille School of Fine Arts and the Montpellier School of Ceramics. She is distinguished by her ceramic works with organic shapes and bright colors, mainly made with coil. She exhibited at the Salon des Arts Décoratifs and won several awards, including a gold medal in 1961. Collaborating with decorators such as Jean Royère, her works are housed in prestigious museums such as the National Museum of Modern Art in Paris. This piece has an attribution mark,
