He has studied and copied famous works from various dynasties and later became a disciple of renowned fine brushwork artists Wu Guangyu, Xu Yansun, and Wang Shuhui, which greatly enhanced his skills in painting.

At the age of 18, he took refuge under the Venerable Jing Hui and received the Dharma name Mingda. He has devoted himself to Buddhist art, focusing on both the proper ceremonial conduct and integrating his body and mind into the reverence for the perfect virtues of saints.

His artwork, which blends fine brushwork and freehand techniques, reflects the compassion and wisdom of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. His Buddhist portraits are not only in accordance with the Dharma, capturing both form and spirit, but also peaceful and pure, with a dignified and majestic appearance. His works have been widely praised by Buddhist followers and are collected by numerous temples, monks, and private individuals.
