Beauty, sophisticated design, and palate of natural dyes brought together in this 4th quarter 19th-century Persian masterpiece.

This Farahan rug with the floral design from the last quarter of the 19th century comes in an extremely fine weave. The primary field color is cream with vines and flowers in pink, blue, green, and yellow. The central medallion is in a dark blue field with designs in green, blue, and red. The corner spandrels are in light pink or peach colors. The primary border is in navy blue with meandering vines and flower rosettes. The rug with this fineness and use of material and color is extraordinary. The balanced design and the combination of beautiful earth tone colors especially the use of the cream color in the field adds to the richness and the beauty of the rug.
