This amazing rug originates from Joshegan, a town southwest of Kashan renowned for its recognizable all-over 'diamond' patterns.

The rug features a captivating rust red background, providing a warm and earthy foundation for its complex design. Elegant French blue corner spandrels beautifully frame the central field. The main design is a remarkably unique all-over interconnected sub-geometric pattern, predominantly composed of intricate diamond shapes rendered in a rich palette of red, French blue, and dark blue.

At its heart, the rug features a stepped central lozenge medallion, adorned with a classic cross motif and delicate Tree of Life florals. Further enhancing the field and spandrels is a repeated pattern of the evocative "Weeping Willow Trees" or "Tree of Life" design, presented in various harmonious colors including serene blue, verdant green, classic red, creamy ivory, soft pink, and warm orange. This symbolic motif adds depth and narrative to the design.  The entire composition is elegantly enclosed by a rectilinear palmette Meander border, gracefully flanked by inner and outer double guard bands.
