The design consists of two columns of connected latch hook medallions in bright colors of yellow, and red set on a French blue background. Yalameh rugs have similar design to Qashqai tribal rugs but are more restrained in design and also use brighter colors. Yalameh rugs are woven around the city of Shiraz in SW Persia. The pastures and mountains in that area have traditionally been home for the Qashqai and Luri tribes and their weaving shows the environment around them.
