4’ x 5’ 10" Vintage Persian Mahal Sultanabad area rug in an all over pattern in the William Morris “Arts and Crafts” style. This Mahal Sultanabad carpet from Western Persia has an allover large form pattern set on a terracotta red background with large geometric allover designs and brilliant colors including shades of green, blue, pink, and yellow. The border is navy blue with geometric designs in red, blue, yellow. The design of this vintage Persian Mahal Sultanabad area rug is reminiscent of the rugs designed by William Morris the British designer best known for his various designs in the mid to late 1800s who is one of the most prominent figures in that Arts and Crafts movement.
