The Bidjar (Bijar) rug has a red or rust color field with a Herati geometric design. The field design accent colors include green, red, navy blue, and ivory. The corner spandrels have a floral theme and beautiful colors of red, pink, blue, and green. The border is navy blue with flower heads in pink, and red. The central medallion and the corner spandrels designs bring beautiful colors such as green, brown, and light blue set on a navy blue background. The "wetting" of the weft in each row of the weave before combing results in the use of twice as much material in weaving as other rugs and therefore these rugs tend to have a much tighter weave. The Bidjar carpets are considered some of the best-weaved carpets from Persia. Truly a great combination of colors, design, and the very finest workmanship.
