born in 1935 in murano, carlo nason comes from a family of expert glassmakers. His father, vincenzo nason, also managed the famous nasonmoretti company. Lulled in this environment since a young age, carlo began designing blow-moulded vases in 1959, today kept at the corning museum of glass in new york.

eager to strike out on his own, away from the family business, he was in fact spotted by a.v mazzega (who produced this pendant light), another glass manufacturer who had become famous, with whom he collaborated from 1965 to 1980 on a range of various lamps and lighting fixtures. His creations are now part of numerous art and design galleries and museums in paris, milan and new york.
