Special Fifty Fifty lamp designed by the Swiss Paul Talman in 1965 and produced by Interaktives Licht Köln.
The lamp consists of an aluminum frame in which 9 plastic balls are placed with an 'on' (white) and 'off' (black) side. By turning the balls, a different pattern with a different play of light is created each time.
This lamp can be used freestanding as a table lamp or as a wall lamp.
Paul Talman was a Swiss painter, sculptor, graphic artist and designer. He had a deep interest in the relationship between color and movement. His works were included in museums worldwide. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution,
