Charming early 19th century English settee crafted in The Thomas Sheraton taste. The mahogany settee features neoclassical style designs such as fluted Louis XVI style legs ending with spade feet in the front. The frame has a square back with gracefully curved arms and turned supports. The square frame is decorated with delicate veneer and thread inlay that shows well given age and use. The arms measure 26.5 inches high. The settee has had a recent modern redux with newly upholstered seats having a linen style fabric decorated with idyllic verdant chinoiserie landscapes. Trees in lovely shades of sage and moss green over an off-white ground. The settee is sturdy and strong with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. From an estate in the Napa Valley, CA.
