from June and Oris collection - June As she steps inside, day gives way to night. The air is thick with warmth, heavy with the scent of simmering broth. Hands move in quiet rhythm, stirring deep pots, steady and unbroken. Their faces remain unseen, but their presence is everywhere, in the labor, in the offering, in the silence that asks for nothing. She moves without urgency, passing through the quiet work, her presence light. Across the room, a woman stands among them, woven into the night. She does not turn, but June knows her, has always known her. She is both stranger and self, the part of her that never left. June speaks a name, her name. Not demanded, not questioned, just given, with deep care and a quiet smile. The stirring slows, the air thickens, and for a breath, the night listens. The other June lifts her head, eyes wide, not with surprise, but with recognition. The warmth that had always been there, unspoken, now has shape. She does not stay. As she steps back into the world, night lifts into day. The air is cool, the streets unchanged, but something within her is steady now, love carried like light, untouched by night, uncompromised by the world awaiting her. - Written by Ugne Pouwell Printed on archival Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta paper.
