1920s Antique Extra Large Portrait of a Family Oil Painting- 42 X 56”
Absolutely magnificent, and gigantic, 1920s large framed oil painting of a young family. There is so much to say about this piece. From the sheer size, to the delightful way that the light and shadows play off of the fabrics. From the delightful pastime each family member is partaking in, to the wonderful muted patina which shows its age and life it’s lived- this piece truly one of a kind and special.
Medium is oil on stretched canvas. Presents beautifully though does have some holes that have been backed, and a few faint scratches. As well as some light paint loss. Could be cleaned further if desired, though I enjoy the muted tones. Or slightly restored. Would also look beautiful ‘as is’ once hung.
