This is an original, antique 19-century large oil painting on canvas depicting a portrait of a Lady in a long black dress standing near a bright red curtain.
The painting overall is in good condition, has some craquelures due to age, no holes. No visible signature on the front. has notes on the backside of canvas: By C.Foster 494 Pine Str Providence, RI. Christmas 1879. Looks like this painting was a Christmas gift, which means it was painted even before 1879.
