A bold and striking mid-century still life composition, executed in oil onto canvas.

The painting presents two mackerel laid on a plate, accented with a lemon wedge and a backdrop of simplified, abstracted elements, and a stark blue tabletop. The fish are rendered in vibrant blues and greys, with expressive yellow eyes that draw immediate attention.
