Includes original dust jacket and red cloth cover. This lovely book covers American art, design, graphic design, and architecture since pre colonial times through the early 1970s, and features essays, notes, and yes, encyclopedic entries from leading American art historians and museum curators. Of note, we found a foreword written by Senator William Benton, a long term publisher of Encyclopedia Britannica, and renowned and respected collector of American art. And we also found some newspaper clippings reviewing a Roy Lichtenstein exhibit at the Lowe Museum in Coral Gables, Florida, and an in depth page of hand written notes on different aspects of the book. Can we guess that this book belonged to an art reviewer who used this book for her art reviews? Yes. Can we confirm this?
