A simple and superb ink or watercolor, in the style of a fashion drawing or portrait, Art Deco, Modernist, Belle … Read more A simple and superb ink or watercolor, in the style of a fashion drawing or portrait, Art Deco, Modernist, Belle Époque, or Roaring Twenties, on paper in its simple wooden frame, an asymmetrical composition depicting an elegant woman in a black dress, depicted in precise shades of black and gray ink or watercolor, signed in pencil in the lower right corner with an English name: Lucy Croffin (or approximately) and dated "June 1932."

This could be a fashion designer's drawing or, given its date and signature, a true artist's work, a portrait of a lady named or nicknamed "Madame Le Chat" on the back.

On the back of the painting, on the cardboard of the frame, handwritten inscriptions in fine pencil appear from certain angles and reveal a "name" and an address:
