These earrings, with their delicately suspended rose-cut diamonds, speak of a time when elegance was effortless and jewelry was an intimate part of one's story. Handcrafted around 1830, these earrings feature four collet set rose cut diamonds; these stones would originally have been closed back and foiled, but to give them more brilliance and sparkle, the backs have been removed sometime over the intervening years The diamonds, are set in silver over 18 karat gold, a technique perfected in the 18th century to enhance the natural brilliance of the stones. Measuring 15.5 mm in length and 8.4 mm at their widest point, they weigh a graceful 3.7 grams. The smaller top diamonds measure 5 mm across, while the lower stones provide a striking balance at 8.4 mm wide.
