The age of the carved wood is estimated to be late 19th century. The lucite is modern. A superb and unique combination indeed!

The frame is open on the front, and closed in with a sheet of lucite on the back. This item was previously a lamp. The cord came through a hole in the back of the base (last photo). The lamp cord did not disturb or touch the wood element. The height of this object is approximately 20". The base is 17" x 8". Total weight is just over 19 pounds.

The panel is in very good antique condition with no apparent damage. There is gold loss as would be expected with age. The modern lucite is in good condition with a few blemishes at the base that are shown in the photos. These blemishes are less noticeable when the object rests on a dark table.
