At its heart, an old mine-cut diamond glows with the soft fire of a bygone era, its facets catching the light as though reflecting the flicker of gas-lit streetlamps on a damp London night. Flanking it, deep red garnets, rich as crushed velvet, offer a contrast of passion and warmth. The sculpted gold setting, adorned with delicate claw prongs and hand-carved shoulders, holds its stones like a secret kept for generations, waiting to be rediscovered.

Handcrafted in 18k gold and fully hallmarked for London, 1875, this ring bears the crown, ‘18,’ the leopard’s head, and the date letter ‘u,’ along with a maker’s mark, ‘GB.’ The central old mine-cut diamond measures approximately 3.6 x 3.5 x 3 mm, weighing an estimated 0.24 carats. The two garnets, each approximately 3.4 x 2.6 mm, have a combined weight of about 0.54 carats. The ring itself weighs 4 grams and measures 5.5 mm at its widest, with a 2.2 mm band. Currently a size 7.25 US.
