The piece features original brass pulls with trumpet and cannon motifs, bone escutcheons, "beehive" feet, bottle drawers, and a convenient desk that pulls down with multiple compartments and two secret drawers. The current owner has been using it as a standing desk, but it's many compartments mean it has plenty of versatile applications!

The primary wood is mahogany, which has beautiful wood grain and poplar secondary, which confirms it is American. The use of such highly figured mahogany and bone escutcheons point to big city craftsmanship as these are luxury features. The beehive foot was incredibly popular in New York City during this time period, and since it was found in New York, it is almost certainly from there. See less
