katia langeard is a ceramic artist and designer based in èze, a hilltop village in the south of france. Raised in a creative family of architects, she was influenced early on by her grandfather, soviet architect, sculptor and painter oleg goryachev. After studying at the moscow architectural institute, she became an architect in third generation and worked in architecture and interior design across russia and europe before relocating to monaco in 2012 where she spent another 10 years in interior design.

starting 2019 led by fascination in ceramics she completed a number of courses and masterclasses working with clay including training wheel throwing under mof stéphane montalto, molding in ecole d'art céramique de vallauris in france, masterclass with ceramists gustavo pérez, kate malone. In 2023, she opened her own studio, creating contemporary lighting and small furniture in ceramics shaped by her architectural roots and inspired nature surrounding her home. She works mainly in hand-building techniques.

she has participated in a ceramic residency in vallauris (france) and had her first solo show during brussels design september 2025 as well as group exhibitions including paris design week and venice design week. Her works are part of the a.i.r. Vallauris public collection and several private collections. Signed by maker,
