Edward Hopper (1882-1967), the iconic American artist, produced realistic paintings and sketches for over 60 years. Lloyd Goodrich captures the essence of Hopper's artistic endeavors throughout his life. Hopper painted characteristic American subjects, such as movie theaters, restaurants, lighthouses and people.
The book is quite large, 12" x 15", an oblong folio with 246 illustrations, 88 in color, most are tipped in plates with many double fold outs. Most definitely a 'coffee table' book, but even more than that: one that's worth reading cover to cover.
The hardcover book has a dust jacket that has done a pretty good job protecting the book...but shows wear and tears and discoloration. Published in 1993 by Harry N Abrams. A good book for the collector or display. Please see photos. See less
