Recently rewired to US standards, all hardware is original … Read more Pair of Antique Large Bronze Spanish Revival Wall Sconces Circa 1920. Recently rewired to US standards, all hardware is original including the Mica shades. Adorned with many figural images on both the front surface of the sconce and the mounting plate, including The Pillars of Hercules, Lions, and Fleur de lei. All common themes of the "Romantic" Revival styles of the 1920s. Also the back plate showing it's imagery.
The mica shade inserts are all original as well. The mica shades are held in place by four tiny screws. Mica was used for windows in the early 16th century as a form of glass. It is not flammable and can withstand much higher heat than glass. Thus today Mica is extremely expensive. The candle inserts were custom made for this pair and are new. Has original pulls for on and off. Also including a pair of silk spun bulbs to add to that romantic feel wherever you would choose to use these stunning sconces. First photo shows lights using the clear/white spun bulbs, the 5th view shows the Orange bulb on left and white on right. Let me know which you would prefer and I will include. See less
