We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning original 19th century oil on canvas of the black prince with … Read more We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning original 19th century oil on canvas of the black prince with king john ii of france as his prisoner and a very old letter stapled to the back a very good looking and wonderfully executed painting, a friend of mine (who is a very sophisticated art dealer) told me that a good painting offers you a window in to another time, that's what this is, before the internet there were books and before books were so readily available there was the printed press for those that could afford it, for all there were paintings used to commemorate, commiserate and honor significant events i will be removing the letter at the back shortly and trying to decipher it the condition is very good, i can't see any repairs, it just has a good aged finish dimensions height:- 26cm width:- 70cm depth:- 3cm condition please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the around condition See less
