The many brass parts give this item a unique style. The numerous compartments in the upper part, as well as the storage compartments in the lid, suggest that this coffer was a trade chest. Likewise, the practicality of this trunk put it that it was used to travel to different places or customers' homes. The two handles are slightly different.
