New York artist, Morgan Garwood (1956-2010) created and signed this composition in 1994. It features a rather abstract figurative seated man in highly visibly worked bronze. The extreme artist presence and the subject matter here resemble a "compact Giacometti", but it is clearly Garwood's own.
Morgan Garwood, born on July 24, 1956, in Houston, Texas, was a well-traveled artist who pursued his education at prestigious institutions such as St. John’s School in Houston, the Taft School in Connecticut, The University of Texas, and the Art Institute of San Francisco.
His legacy includes his works held by the Museum of Fine Arts Houston (MFAH).
Despite it's diminutive size, this composition is rendered in almost
four pounds of bronze. It measures from outer-knee to outer-knee 4" and stands 5.75" tall. IT is an artwork which will occupy a small space in it's environment,, while marking a large and positive place in the mind of any onlooker.
