Long red silk bolster pillow with clouds and flying cranes in white silk. This long lumbar cushion is sustainably made from a vintage late-Showa period (1980s) wedding kimono (Uchikake) and features metallic accents in gold, silver, pale blue over a woven fine striped red silk base. The back is made from a deep purple/ black velvet.
Cranes (Tsuru) are believed to live for a thousand years and inhabit the land of the immortals. They symbolise longevity and good fortune. A pair represent a happy marriage.
Measures 91.5cm x 29.2cm / 36" x 11.5" approx.
Limited edition of 3.
Fully lined inside for protection and strength and with a concealed zip at base for easy pad removal. This pillow has an ethically sourced feather pad included.
