Hand-knotted in wool circa 1950-1960, this 2x5 vintage Burdur rug is an exciting addition to Rug & Kilim’s tribal rug curations. Hailing from the titular city in Turkish Anatolia, it’s a rare piece of uniquely modern attitude in primitivist design.
On the Design:
Admirers of the craft will appreciate the rare number of colors, and the personal, playful look that they achieve. Both this variety and the attention to movement are feats to be treasured in shabby-chic rugs with polychromatic colorway. The natural play of texture and vibrant tones may brighten any space with a distinct, yet comfortable presence. Its scatter rug size, too, is well suited to a wide range of spaces and other decorative choices.
Condition:
This mid-century Turkish Burdur rug further enjoys good condition for its age and origin. It’s perfectly ready for the floor, and is equally suitable for table runner and wall-hanging projects alike.
