Introducing the exquisite vintage mahogany dining chairs attributed to influential Paul McCobb for Calvin Furniture in Grand Rapids, Michigan in the 1950s. Part of The Irwin Collection, these chairs are celebrated for their exceptional design and superior craftsmanship. Constructed with solid mahogany frames that are expertly sculpted, these chairs exude timeless elegance. The brass stretchers underneath the seats not only add to the aesthetic appeal but also showcase the eclectic design.
Recently restored by the previous owners and featuring a splendid pickled wood finish that showcases the unique woodgrains of the mahogany with a weathered appearance this reimagined set is the perfect blend of vintage charm and enduring quality. The seats, also redone in vintage feeling polyester blend feature new medium density foam for maximum comfort and longevity.
Part of a second wave of midcentury American designers that emerged after World War II, Paul McCobb was such a household name, the press crowned him “America’s Designer” during his lifetime. His works are characterized by striking geometry, purity of form and a rock ‘n’ roll undercurrent that are all on full display with this re-imagined set of dining chairs.
With their unique weathered finish, newer upholstery and timeless lines this set of Paul McCobb dining chairs is perfect for designers and collectors alike searching for a set of early Mid-Century Modern, American-made McCobb chairs.
