Incredible set of art deco style French doors custom-made for the pool House of Mr. William A. Fisher, who invented … more Incredible set of art deco style French doors custom-made for the pool House of Mr. William A. Fisher, who invented the car body for Fords automobile industry. These doors sat in one of the buildings that lead into the pool room. These doors are so heavy and solid because they look like they are triple paned glass. I tried to show my hand on the other side to show how thick the glass is. These doors were custom made by Mr. Fisher to fit into his Art Deco themed pool room that on many occasions was visited by famous stars. These doors have such a nice etched glass design with Art Deco streamline details. The wood itself even has a touch of Art deco where the top was carved out to become a half circle when the doors come together. I also noticed when they made these doors that they added an extra piece of wood in the center where the glass sits into the door that is a darker stained wood to complement in contrast to the blonde colored wood. Another amazing feature about these doors is the hardware. The hardware is also Art Deco with the chrome finish and streamline detail, I am not sure of it’s true age but they do look like they have some pitting and age to them. Also Im not sure if they are original 1920s as they were made custom to the home I believe maybe made in the 1960s when they did a renovation to the estate. They also custom-made the hinges for these doors to follow the art deco style. These doors with the key amazing in any style home! This auction is for one set of doors. - These doors are in great condition for the age I did notice some small spots of weathering on the bottoms … moreThese doors are in great condition for the age I did notice some small spots of weathering on the bottoms of the doors which I tried to include in the photos. There is some pitting on the hardware and on one side of the doors that were facing the exterior side of the building there is some weathering and discoloration on the wood. I did not notice any major damage or repairs made. less
