A wonderful antique French textile dating to the mid 1800s and printed in the Alsace region wonderful bird and floral basket design, a classic for this time period! This textile is a wonderful, Antique French toile valance fragment with a beautiful scalloped edge. The right side edge is cut. This textile probably would have hung from a 4 poster bed as a part of a larger bed set lovely pieced textile! This textile is backed in natural white cotton and linen fabric. This toile was dyed using the root of the madder plant. It was printed using an aluminum mordant and then submerged in a madder bath It has faded to a lovely soft rosy pink tone, a bit unevenly. Wonderful monochrome toile! (toile E51)
Measurements: This lovely textile measures 39 inches wide by approx. 18 inches long at the deepest point of the scallop, at the shallow point it measures 14.75 inches long.
Condition: This piece is in as found, not freshly laundered condition with light storage dust. The right side edge is cut and there are some storage marks on the backside. Otherwise great condition!

- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller

- Chairish Express In-Home deliveries are currently only offered for international cross-border shipments.
- The item will be delivered to your home and placed in the desired room. The delivery service includes unpacking, inspecting, and removing packaging materials; and does not include installation or setting up the item.
- Shipping charges start at $999 and vary based on the size, weight, packaging, and/or the value of the item.
- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
- You will need tools and/or equipment to open the crate.

- Chairish Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.
