A lovely length of antique French fabric dating to circa 1870 this wonderful fabric is both roller printed and hand block printed! The madder red scroll designs are printed using hand carved wooden blocks. This fabric has a beautiful greyhound dog design inside of a wonderful rococo style cartouche! This fabric is a wonderful light to medium weight, cotton with perhaps a small amount of linen in the mix. The ground is a lovely antique warm butter tone (the close up pictures are much cooler than the actual tone) and the other colors include deep sienna with hint of purple in the tone, dark red, warm latte and a pale mauve. Gorgeous tones. This was likely once a section of a larger curtain panel. The selvages intact, with remnants of old seams along them, and there is some evidence it may have once been quilted. This fabric would be wonderful used for pillows, curtains, framing and many other wonderful uses! I have many other pieces of this fabric, and some in different tones! Measurements: This fabric measures about 94 inches long by 33 inches wide. I have 3 panels measuring this that I am selling here separately.

Condition: This textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition with storage lint. As mentioned above, there are remnants of old seams on the side edges, but also across the body of this textile there are little dark threads from where this may have been quilted. Any of these threads can be easily picked out! There are a few tiny holes you can see when this is held to the light. There are some tiny pale age marks on the ground that add to the beautiful tones and patina! Very sturdy, generally lovely condition!
