When purchased, the wiring, plug and socket had deteriorated and needed to be replaced. There was no Fredrick Cooper seal on the socket or damaged bottom. Thus, because the base was damaged and crooked it was replaced by Clover's Cottage when the lamp was rewired. Clover's Cottage does not believe that the lampshade is original; the current linen lamp shade was likely added by a prior owner and is in good vintage condition with some brown discoloration. Clover's Cottage took the action to restore this lamp because the English Tin Tea Container was in beautiful condition and after research, we believe we can attribute the lamp, in its restored condition, to Frederick Cooper Company of Chicago, circa 1950's.
