This piece is an edition of … Read more Rare and Important Iconic 20th century design Élysée low table, coffee or cocktail table. This piece is an edition of the design by Pierre Paulin for the Private Living Room of President Georges Pompidou and his wife Claude at the Palais de L'Élysée in Paris. Paulin was commissioned by President Pompidou to design the interiors and furnishings of the three rooms in the Palace; living room, smoking room, and dining room in his modern style. The design of this table was an interpretation of Paulin's earlier Flower Table. The table is comprised of a base rendered in powder-coated aluminum with a smoked glass top, edited by Alpha International, circa 1971. See less
